Hi, I'm Jessie. I'm from Jakarta, I live in Vancouver, and I'm a third-year Statistics and Computer Science major at UBC.

I started out in data. My first internship was mostly spreadsheets, and what stayed with me was how often we would land on the right answer and then nothing would happen with it. I got more interested in the screen people were reading than the number on it, and that is roughly how I ended up in design.

Five internships later I have built dashboards for finance teams in Vancouver, AI agents for product teams in Toronto, and the tool that decides who gets into a stadium's software in New York. Plus a university's websites and a retail loyalty platform somewhere in there.

None of those are apps anybody downloads for fun. They are tools people open because it is their job, which I think is the harder and more interesting problem. Nobody gives an internal dashboard the benefit of the doubt.

When I am not doing that I bake cakes for my friends, go to more concerts than I can justify, and drink an unreasonable amount of matcha. I have a dog named Oakley who happens to share my birthday. If you are in Vancouver, Toronto or New York, ask me where to eat. I will have opinions.
